This is an excellent presentation of the jaundice problem as it confronts the physician. It presents, in a concise manner, the four methods of medical approach to jaundice: (1) history and physical examination, (2) laboratory tests, (3) roentgen examination, and (4) needle biopsy of the liver. Interpretations of the information which may be gathered by these means are offered by the author on the basis of extensive clinical experience. The limitation in diagnosis and the importance of a history and of physical examination are stressed. The text is well illustrated; the photomicrographs of specimens of liver used for biopsy are exceptionally good.
