The title of the book might suggest a concise clear summary of a clinical problem. In this 145-page summary there is considerable repetition which seems useless. The importance, nature, incidence, clinical manifestations, diagnosis, and treatment of this disease are considered. The more recently developed diagnostic tests are given adequate consideration. There is an extensive bibliography of 361 references, most of which would not be of as much value to the general practitioner as a more extensive index. There are some editorial errors, such as the omission of the word "no," which would alter the meaning considerably. Although there is much information in this book, it hardly seems to suffice as a summary bringing order out of chaos. . . . [Full Text PDF of this Article]
