In her introduction the author states that the purpose of her book is "to introduce variety or flexibility into the prescribed diet." To this end she has translated diet prescription to menu to recipe. The latter are arranged to fit the widely used ADA diet exchange lists, and each has appended its equivalent exchange value. The stated purpose has been admirably achieved. The physician may, with confidence recommend this book to the diabetic patient and the person who cooks for him.
