On our side of the Atlantic we are not as familiar as we ought to be with the medical philosophy of that great Englishman, Wilfred Trotter (1872-1939). This is a reason to examine here a book of his essays which appeared so long ago as 1941. "The Collected Papers of Wilfred Trotter" are made up of nine addresses, a paper, and two letters to The Times, forwarded by his son, Dr. W. R. Trotter.
